Mitch Bell is a Co-Investigator on the SmartTech for Paralysis Care. Mitch Bell is a Rehab Innovation Specialist at UPMC, where he leads Assist+, a program driving advancements in assistive technology for staff, patients, and the community. He works at the Mercy Pavilion, Mercy Hospital, and the Center for Assistive Technology.
He earned his bachelor’s in Rehabilitation Science and his master’s in Rehabilitation Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, and his master’s thesis “Functional Mobility Outcomes in Telehealth and In-Person Assessments for Wheeled Mobility Devices” was published in The International Journal of Telerehabilitation. Mitch is deeply passionate about adaptive gaming, smart devices, and assistive technology, and is furthering his professional development with a certificate in Healthcare Innovation Management from Temple University.
