Monique Chabot, OTD, OTR/L, SCEM, CLIPP, CAPS is the Associate Director of Assistive Technology at the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University. She is pursuing her PhD in Architecture and Design Research at Thomas Jefferson University, focusing on the integration of smart technology into homes in the community to enable older adults to live in place. She researches and specializes in geriatrics, home modifications, and assistive technology, due to a belief that older adults deserve to live safe and independent lives in the homes of their choosing. Before joining academia, she worked for a geriatric housecall outpatient practice and continues her clinical work by working for local nonprofit agencies providing home modification services in underserved communities in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.
