Nia Monteiro OTS, graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.S in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Johnson and Wales University. After she completed a year as an AmeriCorps member for City Year Providence, she became a Direct Support Professional for young adults with disabilities. She currently works for the Reentry Campus Program as a Student Support Specialist where she supports currently incarcerated students. She has become a part of the D2 team as a research assistant and is excited to continue her love for helping others and being a part of the solution to change and equity.
