Ricardo Ayala-Jimenez, MD was born and raised in Puerto Rico where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had experience in healthcare imaging devices, alternative energy sources, and jet engine performance analysis before deciding to focus on health-related technologies. He went back to school, completing his MD at the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, and a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University. Currently he is pursuing a fellowship in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at UPMC Children's Hospital.
He is Interested in rehabilitation technologies and medical devices, and has worked in 3D-printed prosthetics and robotic rehabilitation. He hopes to use technology to bridge the gap of accessibility in medicine.
